Somalia is a dry country

One thing I see a lot of somalis daya vrn from my relatives is somebody say the land is fertile or that it's green. From somebody setting up a little farm or them seeing a bit of greenery. I think to myself do they realize objectively speaking somalia is mostly an arid semi dessert country. We're not as dry as north africa or eygot or saydi arabia etc. Don't get me wrong there is still potenial to greenify somalia in a way you can't do in the middle east. But there is a reason why somalis where never mainly farmers.

Somalia is semi-arid but you can easily change the greenery of the landscape and revive rivers.

I remember I had a whole phase when I was autistically watching landscape restoration and reforestation videos and came to the conclusion it’s possible in Somalia but we just need the political wil.

We should invest individually in our land and not depend on the government. Until we do this somalia will remain arid, dry and very hot (trees cool the climate by 10 degrees). We could achieve even a temperate climate like turkey if we plant enough trees, incidentally enough global warming will aid us in this regard as rainfall is set to increase. We also must create artificial lakes and restore our rivers in the north of somalia and NFD. It's possible to overcome the rain shadow effect this way as rivers and lakes contribute to the rain cycle through evaporation.
