Somalia at night - 2016 update

NASA just released another data set. Somalia has barely gained any light output since 2013. In fact, some settlements have disappeared. One of the few places that has happened outside of places like Syria and Yemen. This image is from Dec 2016. Addis on the far left and Nairobi on the bottom left.

Garissa is the fourth brightest Somali city, surprised me.

@AbdiJohnson it seems that the little economic growth Somalia has goes to feeding the ever increasing population. The economy and the population are both growing but there is very little increase in living standards. Somalia is a machine that produces poor people.
