If a single Somali diplomat is seen anywhere near Israel, HSM will be declared a traitor and a motion of impeachment will be brought.
We are in an existential war against Al Shabab, any contact with Israel strengthens their argument that the Somali gov is run by murtads.

Somalia already works with China and we have a chinese ambassador. Same country has put the whole muslim Uighur ethnicity to concentration camps, trying to eradicate their identity. Western countries finance the vast majority of our government/aid and their black kuffar footsoldiers are guarding the president.

In 2021 Sudan got access to 55 billion dollars in debt relief and 2.5bn in new loans alongside them signing the Abraham Accords. Taken off the terror list too. That was alongside bigger countries like UAE, Bahrain normalisation. So keep in mind that is what Israel/US offered to Sudan to be a cherry on top of the cake.
Somalia is currently in a good position as the holdouts are tougher gets for Israel like Saudi Arabia and Biden is desperate for his re-election bid to get the Abraham Accords to progress as Trump calls him a failure on foreign policy with the elections heating up. Same with the currently isolated Netanyahu. We should drive a hard bargain.
There’s other things like oil blocks the US is desperate for and HSM is keeping in his pocket. Coastline only got a few of the blocks. Intense competition over the rest between Italy, US, U.K. He’s a well seasoned politician, I’m sure he’ll make sure he uses both these leverages to get the progress on the issues above.
Should he, we have a bright future and the FGS will finally be the one and only entity international partners engage with. We really just have one or two more hurdles to pass, so close yet so far. Whoever controls the purse strings, controls the future. FGS must control finances

If/once the FGS tries, let alone succeeds, in forming ties with Israel; they'll be humbled quickly. What you and @bidenkulaha need to realize is the the can of worms being opened with such action. Irrespective of the benefit it may constitute to the country; the majority of Somalis are against this move (very emotionally attached to the Palestine conflict) and a propaganda boost for AS, who weaponizes Villa Somalia as a foreign installed rule against muslims. And Somalis being gullible, many would fall for it. If HSM still tries to force through without any consensus; I hope he'll feel the brunt of his action and pay for every unpopular measure he willingly do.
No one cares about Palestine, Somalis have realised their interest. Why should we care about a bunch of Arabs half way across the world, when our people are suffering?

We’ve had meetings for the last few months/year. Nothing has happened. Just like how nothing happened in other Muslim countries. Bit by bit it’ll become normalised.
Somalia is too focused on qabiil and addicted to khaat to unite over anything. We literally have Ethiopia in our country being celebrated. Y’all are over egging this.
We just need a good deal at a critical time and the papers will be signed.

Yeah, people are focused with other more urgent and determinant things. But it won't remove the sentiments Somalis have towards the Israels. Look at Sudan for instance, and even Morocco; the overwhelming majority still oppose it. Good luck with this, in the context of Somalia. I'm not exaggerating, it'll bite and backfire for the gov't sooner or later in some way. But one thing is for sure, the confidence amongst the public will be reduced when you push through unpopular acts. Common sense

Yes it’s not really about Israel although they definitely want us to normalise given all their briefings and the lack of progress on Abraham Accords last year or so.
It’s all about America. We will do what they tell us
