Somali word replacement and language reform

How come Somalis use Arabic words in our language while we have words equivalent to those Arabic words. We need to purge and replace foreign words from our language and create new words for our language we dont have.

First and foremost sxb there is no wrong in using loanwords, as we have loaned words from English, Italian and Arabic. Every language in the world have words they have lended from neighbouring countries/cultures.

And we have words for some of the words you have mentioned:
Bridge - buundo
Ambulance - dhooli or ambalaas
Map - khariidad
Politician - siyaasi
Telephone - taleefoon
Form - qaab
Canal - kanaalka or biyo-mareen
Ancient - wax qadiim ah
Encyclopedia - mawsuucad
Sports - cayaar

The rest along with telephone are made from loanwords. But i do agree with you the language needs an institution that will guard it from further external influence.
