I was on the Facebook live bandwagon back in the Golden days when dabcasar and all the weirdos started streaming. These streamers used to leave me laughing hysterically. The likes of dabcasar (a comic and symbol of hope that refers to himself as the king of the five Somali regions), dahir Alasow a shameless pathological liar that forwards a qabiilist agenda, and mama malyuun (bom). Great days that were filled with joyous laughter.
Unfortunately, we are seeing the darker side of Somali social media today. A number of closeted ghaniises have used this platform to share their shame, and encourage others. A truly hideous precedent.
For this reason. I renounce my support for Somali social media, Facebook live in particular.
