I presume most of those who die from these procedures have fat grafts injected into a muscle and go for lower-budget options. Only to succumb to a fatal pulmonary embolism.

I blame the increasing trend in this surgery (disproportionately among women of colour) due to social media influencers and reality tv contributing to this exaggerated frame's popularity. I think aiming for an aesthetic because it's on trend will come back to haunt you when you become an ayeeyo. Gravity comes for everyone. Imagine a paralyzed face from excessive botox and a dislocated hip from an old BBL.
Will you be as angry about these procedures being haram as you are about FGM being equally haram? Where are Somali fathers to protect their daughters from FGM which is a haram practice?

Beauty ideals are subject to flux and flow. What was acceptable in size 20 years ago has radically changed. Athleticism was emphasized in the 2000s-2010s. This was displaced by the Instagram baddie generation of the 2010s-2020s. Essentially the inflated lips, narrow waist, and unnatural curves. No offense but the current aesthetic looks somewhat inflamed. Even in certain subcultures, an AA woman from the 90s or 00s would be seen as too thin and toned by today's standards.

Thank you. I'm far from young, but Alx, Somali genes come in handy. I feel we can maximize what were have from proper sleep, hydration, and nutrition. Even then, some are very lucky. My older cousin is 50+ and looks 30. She started having kids in her 40s and is still quite thin. Mash'Allah.
God-fearing ones you mean. Don't think it's about modesty per say, as i've seen covered abaya wearing Arab women get boob and bbl procedures to impress husbands or maybe for their own self-esteem. A covered/modest woman might not want to impress the masses, but they're still susceptible to social media standards and want to look good for themselves or partner.

Maybe, but I think itโs the ones who looks sloppy. Like they are heavy and donโt want the stomach fat or they donโt exercise so their bum isnโt looking too great. No exersice with a big bum can look disastrous so they get a lift.That's what I read ,maybe it's the pressure or stereotype that all BW have big futo's so those women who are flat want those "black" features aswell
