Somali Resiliency

The Somali people have through the past centuries, experienced much hardache which has ironically enough, conditioned them to react calmly to disheartening acts.

In the past week, Somalia witnessed two attacks. On the 8th of June, terrorists attacked the Af- Urur Military Base located 60 miles outside the port city of Bosaso where nearly 70 soldiers perished. Yesterday, as Muslims broke their fast in the Capital, terrorists once again attacked a popular restaurant killing 31 civilians.

The tragic acts commited by these brainwashed, barbaric cowards will not bring about their intended reactions. Somalis are resilient people. We are not scared of Al-Shabaab. We will not let our momentum be overshadowed by these attacks. Somalia will continue to progress and prosper. Al-Shabaab will never have a foothold in the horn. They are not Somali. That title is only held only by proper, dignified people which they aren't. The days are numbered for Al-Shabaab. Soon, the might of the Somali National Army will befall them and when that day comes, they better hope we dont reciprocate their behavior.
