Somali region has really come a long way they were not much different to PL in terms of development due economic discrimination by Siyad Barre and even SYL.

PL greatest alliance is Ogaden we gain alot mutually by being friends. Somali region can influence Ethio policy towards Somalia and same with Kenya, they could serve as bridge in the horn that is their political competitive advantage.

As America first and oldest security partner PL and PSF, we do have preference with the Americans and trust established. But let's not kid ourselves it is a partnership which is their lowest diplomatic relationship while ally is the highest and not based on interests. I will cry in joy if the day comes I hear America refer to PL as its ally in Somalia. Till then we must be vigilant.

They are also lucky to not have their eggs in 1 basket like we do unfortunately in Somalia, they have some sort of political back up options.

The best path for all of us is to be reunited in a single somali state. Somali region dont want to be apart of ethiopia region because if we continue to do so the existence of a somali region in of itself would be uncertain.. We want a strong somali state to join. Not under the ethiopians which keep sending their finest to displace somalis with settler colonialism. Good that the cagjar acknowledges the fighters of wslf and onlf that fighted for somaliweyn cause. But he must do his part, now it seems like hes playing a stategic game. Somalia is not doing to well and they need to fix up quick. In the mean time somali region will develop while trying to combat the ethiopian invaders. Still dont know what happened with tuliguleed at all... I also wish for you Osman to hold the same view. To join a strong somali state and not be referred to by states. You ever hear foreign countries praising minnesota as its ally in america? their a federal central country too. We need to become a federal country with more states less power and a strong central government. Dont worry states will exist-- less powerful.

Is it better wishful thinking, has it crossed your mind maybe just maybe somali union hurts Somalis more then any benefit they gain. A man once said its better being little vassal states and alive then dead or in a failed status thru big union. Give me UAE Or Qatar, small but working vs big n large African nations who don't work. Heck the small states functioning even come back later and dominate large dysfunctional nations.

You should definitely warm up to a somali union, dont let the incompetency in xamar sour the ideals of nearly every single somali. Ask any somali and their uniting factor is somaliweyn.

I still want a united somalia, everyone in galbeed wants it. Everyone in puntland wants it everyone in somaliland wants it everyone in sws jubaland central all those peoples. Every somali basically is working towards this goal.
Thats why I want states to be split in smaller units and a better leader / government to come along.

I don't deny what u saying that Somalis(foolishly) believe in somaliwayn a stupid political idealogy which they confuse with social matters, I was there pre 2005 also, I wasn't a big regionalist either between 98 to 2005, me and my family were active in somaliwayn, it was after 2005 that was the last straw for me when hags switched from warlords to terrorists to stop abdillahi yusuf govt, I realised then their are some clans who still prefer the old harami pact post 94 4 month war in mogadishu that lasted well into 2006. These clans don't hate tribes u must realise that, their more concerned about their haram looting which supersedes the need for a state and their still there just running around in islamist mask now.

I wish u the best as your young, maybe after a decade or two when u see somalia degrading worser, u will also reach political enlightenment and just focus on your people not other people. Then you will find many kids to replace your spot and u will be like me warning them.
