27+ years of civil strife has developed unique psychological disorders among various groups in Somalia. I will do my best here to explain some of them.

    1. Kacaanphilia aka Marexaan guilt - is the individual or collective guilt felt by some kacaanphiles for harm resulting from tribalist treatment of non mareexan by other mareexan people historically.

    2. Ictiraaf Bipolar Disorder (IBD) - characterized by shifts in mood as well as changes in activity and energy levels. The disorder often involves experiencing shifts between elevated feelings of international recognition and periods of depression due to realization of federal state status.

People experiencing IBD are also more prone to engage in activities that might have negative long-term consequences such as political isolation and giving away sea ports.

    3. Puntland Identity Disorder (PID) - a mental disorder characterized by at least two distinct and relatively enduring personality states. Usually involves states of independence similar to Ictiraaf Bipolar Disorder (IBD) to tendencies of Somali Separation Anxiety Disorder (SSAD)

The cause is believed to be due to trauma. In about 91% of cases there is a history of abuse linked to experiences of kacaanphilia and HAG Possessive Disorder (HPD) victimization.

    4. HAG Possessive Disorder (HPD) - pattern that wherein people suffering from HPD are possessive with land and material wealth. It can begin with just one looting, but often it is about looting all of their surroundings. This leads to control "isbaaro" issues, elderly abuse, and mooryaanism.

    5. Somali Separation Anxiety Disorder (SSAD) - a type of anxiety disorder involving an excessive amount of fear or anxiety related to being separated by colonial or tribal boundaries. Certain words have a tendency to trigger SSAD such as "Ethiopia", "Oromo", "Bantu", "Arab" and "British".

The first step in treating these disorders is recognizing that they exist :pachah1:
