,this is from 2011 does anyone have any recent data?
“Population planning” or “family planning” is a scam. The more children Somalis have, the better it is. Anywhere Sunni Muslims exist, the more children we have, the better it is. Which is why I don’t think Ethiopia taking over Somalia is a bad thing, since that will tip the demographic scale in the favour of Muslim Ethiopians which would enable us to take over the whole country in the long run, if we are united and strategize long-term. If a Somali woman back home is strong enough to give birth to 20 kids, I say she should do it. 16 or 17 million isn’t enough in my opinion, within at least 20 years, I want to see a population of 45+ million within Somalia.

And does the environment in Somalia support these large numbers?
I personally don’t care whether the environment supports these large numbers. As long as there are more of us in this world, the better it is long-term.
The “over-population threat” is Western propaganda and should be ignored.
Again another low IQ farax thinking brining shit lote of children in to a country that has been struggling with extreme poverty, famine, repetitive drought and corruption for the past 33 years is a good idea. Like do some of you actually use your brain? Most of those children would die young due to lack of medical recourses not to mention if they do end up healthy they are going to suffer big time in life thanx due to the lack of eduction, hardships of finding real providing jobs and career the list goes on.
Most if not all will dream to go to Europe or the United State as refugees, and will probaly risk their lives or end up dead by thariib. Stop repeating the same problem and then wondering why your country and community isn't progressing like the rest of the world.
No it won't, the west will be forced to step in and imply the same family planning they did to Bangladesh by building schools and encouraging young girls to get proper education so that they won't end up being illiterate and having seven kids being a fourth wife to some jobless bumb. Basically decreasing the fertility rates in the country and increasing the literacy rates.
The "over-population" is bs . There has been lot of talks for some time now how some countries have declining population (Europe and the far East South Korea and Japan) even those countries that had huge population (china and India) their population has been on the decline and their is lot disadvantages to it ,and Lot of these countries will in the future be looking for immigrants . Even some countries have put in policies and incentives for couples to have more children.

You're right the so called family planning has it's origins in eugenics in fact it's a rebranding of the idea to make it palatable for the masses.
Contrary to what alarmist say the world isn't experiencing an overpopulation rather many countries are facing aging population and need working people to drive the economic engine of the society. As one man once said demography is destiny. Economy is getting better and there is many sings of recovery in somali territories in the horn, a large somali population would contribute to the growth of economy and provide a large pool of talent for innovation.

Sxb Somalis being 17 million strong is a flat out lie,there has not been a census in over 40 years.
Most of these numbers are estimations from old data trends, a proper census of all regions would be interesting!

Before speaking about Somalia, let's focus on Ethiopia alone. Why don't the Muslims of Ethiopia unite today, as they constitute half the population? Because there're no such identity as "Muslim Ethiopian". It's just pure cope from those who for whatever reason disregard reality, oftentimes know little about Ethiopian affairs. A Muslim Oromo, Amhara or Tigrayan will most of the time pick a gaal of their kin, over a Muslim over another ethnicity in Ethiopia. Once you come to terms with this, everything will make sense.
Otherwise, there're would've been a united Ethiopian Muslim front today. Remember a couple of weeks ago when the Oromia state (led by muslim leaders) demolished several dozens of mosques outside Addis; even though it got nation-wide headlines, you saw barely any engagement from muslims of other ethnicities in Ethiopia. Even among Somalis, aside from few condemnations online here and there, there were nothing. During the Tigray war, many mosques were destroyed, including the bombing and looting of al-Nejashi mosque (newly renovated), built by the first muslims to migrate to Africa 1400+ years ago. Little reaction came from other ethnic groups. In Ethiopia today, everyone is only concerned by things that concern their ethnic group.
Just look at the majority of Muslim politicians in Ethiopia; regardless of whether they are practicing or secular Muslims; all of them stand with their gaalo counterparts. Good luck trying to change this.

I was speaking about Somalia’s population. Somalia’s population is currently estimated to be around 17 million. I think back in 2012 Somalia’s population was 10 or 12 million? Either way, it’s a step in the right direction but 17 million isn’t enough. I wasn’t speaking about the Somali population as a whole (if you include Djibouti + Somali Galbeed + NFD).

How much would you estimate the total Ethiopian population? Last time I checked, it was 120+ million. Let's se if you're honest about them too kkk
I’m specifically speaking about Somalia’s numbers, not Somali numbers as a whole. Somalia is currently estimated to be around 17 million.
