“Here is my synopsis of the Somali physique and development.

Somalis have been blessed naturally with height and elongated limbs, which works wonders at sports like Basketball, Soccer, and track and field (Mainly long distance but sometimes short, look at Bolt)

The weakness in Somalis is muscular development. Now we need to talk about muscles. What builds/creates muscles cells and what causes muscle cells to grow or enlarge in this case?

The answer. HGH and Testosterone. HGH actually builds muscle cells, the more HGH you produce the more actual muscle fibres you have. So here we want more HGH. Now testosterone itself doesn’t build muscles, but the more testosterone you have, the larger your muscles are (Depends if you train for anabolic growth and many other factors). More testosterone means larger muscles, more strength (Greater output of CNS) and stronger bones. Now once you mix output of HGH and Testosterone, now you have yourself an athletic beast or someone with a lean muscular built with no ability to produce fat.

Now the curious case of the Somali. The average Somali without a doubt, is lanky and skinnyfat with little to no muscle. Now instead of being short sighted and blaming genetics, we need to find the underlying curse.

Answer. High carbs/refined sugar diet, with low protein and fat along with low calories. It’s a trifecta for underdevelopment. Let me example

The human body works, well mainly the hormones work together. So when one goes up, the other goes down. Naturally a male is meant to be High Test, High HGH, low estrogen and extremely insulin sensitive.

When you eat a high carb diet, many things happens. Firstly, it constantly spikes insulin, a hormone. Get this, very important, Insulin works against HGH and testosterone. So high insulin means LOWER testosterone levels and lower HGH levels, meaning less ability to pack on muscle, less ability to burnt fat and easier ability to put on fat. The body doesn’t need that much carbs, carbs unlike fat and protein isn’t an essential macronutrient. So once, you have too much carbs, the body starts producing MORE insulin, insulin is needed to shutter glucose(Carbs) into the cells. Since you reach max glucose needs relatively easily, the body needs to do something with all this extra energy, since carbs don’t actually built the body like protein or needed for hormone production and transport of essential vitamins and minerals like fat, the body does starts developing adipose tissue(Fat) to store all this excessive energy. This is what occurring to the Somali male because of their terrible diet. They have a glucose burning body, fat storing body because of high carb along with low testosterone and HGH levels which means regardless of workout, they cant change body because the horomone balance isn’t right, and I haven’t even touched on the issue of estrogen, indigestion caused by carbs, bone demineralization because of carbs and the destruction of Somali aesthetics because of refined carbs/sugars WITH low fat and protein.


Now imagine the average Somali, who literally eats nothing but carbs from birth. They miss out years on HGH production which means less development of actual muscle fibres, years of low testosterone underdeveloped muscles compounded with ever-increasing insulin insensitivity. It’s a quagmire which needs to be address. It can easily be addressed. You can get a Somali male who is 115 pounds, and with the right diet turn him into 220 lean muscular beast. But it is better, if he ate properly when he was younger as he missed out YEARS of developing muscle fibers, strong bones and better androgen receptors.

I’m in the same situation as you lool DISCLAIMER This wasn’t my work I just thought it was interesting and wanted people to expound upon it.

It is not just Somalis.Many people in the West are becoming sick because the high carb diet without exercise or plenty of walking is essentially suicidal. Certain Athletes are on high carb diets for a specific reason.

The very high carb diets are a result of humans being able to produce food for mass consumption.

My only issue with this fellows post is the high protein, high fat diet, really? That also comes with health risks if you are not exercising like crazy. Sounds like another version of the Atkins diet. I am not an expert on diets though.....You would need the input of diet suugo scientists on that..


There was a study which compared food intake between Masai and American populations. The Masai were not as prone to cardiovascular diseases as American populations when they consumed high fat levels. What was more astonishing is that the Masai do not do steronous activities/sports or go to gym. What they do is a lot of walking. Obviously, the Masai also eat less food.

The other issue people should be weary of is the obsession with aesthetics and muscles. Skinny Masai with small biceps are more healthy than those ripped African American dudes.

We do mis use the critical parts of our development: we’re stilk eating hoyoos high carb food.
We go to bed late and hardly get enough sleep and sleep is a natural HGH.
