Somali people have the same self-hate and colorism issues as African-Americans

Y'all love to pretend like you don't face these same issues but it's so obvious that many of you do.

Most of y'all would rather be told you look indian or arab rather than just looking 100% black somali. Most Somali women apply a lighter foundation make-up to their faces or some even bleach their skin to make it lighter.

Terrible take, East Asian Millennials take the cake for self-hatred. Mind you it was MENA folk who used to claim Spanish or Greek because of what they went through after 9/11 & the war on terror. Every culture that's been transplanted to the West had their share of self-loathing and lack of esteem growing up.

Explicit racism = based on ignorance.

Implicit racism = based on a need to preserve the power structure.

Explicit racism is direct and in your face. With Cadaans it's subtle and institutional. Racism from them is structural and systemic. They won't punch you in the face like minorities, but they will shift cultural, legal, media and other institutions against you.

Somalis have every right to complain about Cadaan racism, at least Caribbeans and West Africans are Christian (mostly), we're black, Muslim AND we stand out as an ethnic group, that's three strikes on our resume.
