Fobs are strong and mighty here in Scandinavia, but they are still vastly outnumbered by diaspora born or raised here.

Interacting with fobs is great, you will improve your level of somali and get a deeper understanding of somali culture. Also the banter is world class. The presense of fobs is good because it kinda attaches people to back home ( don’t know how to word this properly ).

Diaspora people getting more interested in somali culture has to do more with the overall trend of being from a non-western deemed as cool. 2018 diaspora people were turning their noses at somali music, but 2022 you can bump up Suldaan Seerar comfy in the car. Something happened between those years.

I don’t think somalis will ever immigrate to the west so easily. The tahriib period has ended, european countries nowadays don’t accept asylum seekers.

How old are you ? I think you’re from a generation where that was once true. A guy I know is a wedding photographer and this summer it’s like one in three weddings he does are mixed. He shot a Somali guy + Ghanaian girl wedding on Friday

Naw the fobs took over and torontos getting gentrified so alot of canadian born somalis are moving out as it's getting to pricey to live on ur own.....while the fobs are moving into the hoods in mass as they have quicker access to housing as refugees

Nah tahribing is still goin on its juss not talked about and the final destination for the fobs tahribing to america is always canada as we have very weak immigration laws. Plus the canadian government is planning on bringing in another million immigrants from places like Syria,Yemen Somalia, Eritrea...... by 2030 their probably be 400,000-500,000 Somalis in canada lol
