Somali Cat.

I feel conflicted about this. There was once a cat person who was calling her cat, 'Somali' and I thought of it as rude.

To my demise, the cat's species is literally called Somali cat. It's condescending to label an animal by an ethnic group.

The Somali cat breed is not even from Somalia. It is actually an Egyptian domestic cat whose parental breed was named ''Abyssinian'' by British cat breeders and later on a long haired mutant version of this cat was named ''Somali''.

The cats of Somalia look very different from this one and are generally very aggressive cats who probably have interbred with real wild cats.
