Nah almost everyone thinks it sounds like Arabic because of the Arabic letters we borrowed and Arabic loan words.
Somali doesn't sound like Farsi or Urdu or Kurdish at all Turkish I could get but it still is too different

That's like thinking English and French sound the same, because of the thousands of loanwords. No one does that. They're both Indo-European languages but belong to different branches. Germanic and Romance. Just like Somali and Arabic are both Afro-Asiatic languages yet one is Semitic and the other one is Cushitic

You don't seem to understand it's not about what me and you think we speak the language so of course it won't sound the same to us. Well the biggest reason we shouldn't judge is because you're only able to look at the ugly side of it like how it sounds in your ears you're unable to properly understand the good qualities of it and missing out on what makes that language special/unique, so why waste your time on criticism that can't understand when something truly shines? That's not even criticism it's just straight up hate

To me Somali shines when two fobs are talking shit to each other so why would someone judge it when they never even experienced that? And I'm sure they wouldn't put it on any worst list if they did.

1) Sub-Saharan African languages, particularly Bantu/West African. Sounds like ape-noises.

2) South East Asian - Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian/Malaysian, Tagalog etc. Literally ear-rape. I want to hang my head against a wall.

3)South Asian - Indian, Bangaldeshi, Pakistani etc. Sounds retarded, like someone took all the dumbest sounds on the planet and made a language.

I have been told somali sounds pleasant by ajnabi specially when spoken in calm manner. Any language can sound pretty harsh if the person is yelling which shows that being positive is a beauty in its own

Yeah that's what i always heard from my German friends, the girls always told me your language is so sexy, but when we start yelling or talking harsh it sounds worse than German +Hebrew together
