Sitti Region: Day 3 Of War Between Afars and Somalis. Deadliest Conflict In the Regions History

i doubt the Djibooty despot will do anything. The fat midget is too busy supporting SL unjust war in SSC.

:manny: Good luck to them tho.

You're right. IOG doesn't give jackshit about Issas in Sitti, with no support coming from him. It's entirely Afars militias fighting inside Somali majority areas in DDS, against local Somalis (mostly Issas).

Previously it was the cities of Garba-Ciise, Candhufo, Cadeytti (entirely Somali inhabited areas, wrongly placed in Afar region during the creation of the ethnic regions), but remained in the control of DDS, that they capured.

After massive disputes and fightings, Abdi Iley agreed to hand over to the Afar region under some form of agreement, but Cagjar has since rescinded that decision when he took power. But Afar militias still took over the three cities in 2021 I believe. And now the war is taking place deep inside the Sitti region.

It seem like Cagjars interest on the matter has "died down", from an interview he made in december, and wanted to find a solution during the "national reconciliation" the gov't was talking about last year, which will probably not happen. He was trying to portray like it was some small issue, couldn't believe what I was hearing.

But fightings has since happened again, and he has yet to make any meaningful statement nor action. He was even chased out there by the locals, when he tried to visit there last time, after being quiet and not doing nothing to solve the issues, causing the fightings. That unfortunately seems to get repeated frequently.

Hopefully, the fightings stops urgently and appropriate steps can be taken to find a permanent solution on the "disputed areas". Doesn't look like the DDS nor the federal gov't have any interest, by the looks of it.

I know afars been land grabbing while the government ignores what’s going on. Sad news it’s been three days and no news of this anywhere

I haven't keeping myself up-to-date with DDS affairs recently, but I heard my parents speak with relatives today, that a war broke out between Somalis and Afars in western Sitti, DDS.

Based on what I've heard, the war is said to be severe, and one of the deadliest since the conflict between Somalis and Afars began in Sitti. The scenes on the ground is beyond comprehensible. As the twitter account in OP, I also heard hundreds of fatalities and likewise hundreds injured, thus far.

May Allah ease their pain, and solve this matter asap 🙏

Please let's not bring IOG/Irir-Samale debacle into this matter, as I've already seen some Somalis do, on social media. Those Issas in Sitti have nothing to do with the Djibouti dictator meddling in SL/SSC affairs. He doesn't even support the Issas in DDS, who are left to die by themselves.

There are "allegations" that Afars are fighting with weapons received from the Tigray war and the participation of Afar from Eritrea, from what the people on the ground are claiming. I'll wait until verified, but it's not far-fetched from reality, given how quick they've managed to capture these areas, that Issas previously managed to defend themselves. Especially, as it was in 2021 during the Tigray war that Afars militias first succeeded in taking territories from Somalis.

There’s no mention of this aggression in social media by their brethren in Djibouti, Hargeisa and muqdisho. Not a single shirweeyne or baaq from the odayaal that held their usual hanjabaad against their fellow somalis.

Somalis to busy killing each other, Fat ass Gelle focused on sending weapons to kill other Somalis

We only know how to act tough and strong against each other, but non- Somalis its opposite

Until ciise die in the thousands fighting geele they will be counted as accomplices. Djibouti can arm sl and destabilize the south but can’t save their immediate kins in sitti just 1 hr away?
I use to feel for them akhi and it pissed me when other somalis just stood and watched an ethnic group attack one somali qabil. No more. Let thier fellow irir help.

Where is Irir Samaale? Where is Ismail Cumar Geelle? Go defend your people
Abdi Iley gave away the land that Canfaar filth are trying to cleanse from Ciise. This conflict was instigated by that disastrous decision.

One of the reasons I like Cagjar is because he has claimed those lands back for the Somali kilil, unlike the Xabashi goon Iley giving them away. Just like his predecessor gave away many Somali Woredas to Oromia before him.

Tplf and irir samaale worked on those deals. The somali politicians don’t even look after their own clan’s issues what makes you think another clan’s stooge will go against Ethiopia for the interest of another clan whose main politicians are in the pockets of Ethiopia.
