The other issue is there are some western Somali people that actually agree with them and it starts a tend of some Western Somali stating " You see there is prof of Somali song about madow people". For instance thisMadows think everything is about them. Like we knew about FBAs then

99.99% of Somalis I meet have my skin tone or darker and I don’t have any problem with the black label.
Why some Somalis(mainly northerners) get so insecure and start correcting and arguing with people???

because it will start a problem of people just taking your culture and redefining it as black culture. There some Somali girls suffering with this problem, because the let a madow girl into the somali baati clothing culture and now they doing unSomali things while still wear the Somali baati. We need to have boundaries on our culture and customs or it will be lost to the other africans.

Part of it is culture. somalis are aware that they have darker skin. arriving to the west tho the black label is predominantly used for AA’s as their identity. most africans feel this way nigerians and akata dominicans etc it’s just that black is used interchangeably as a people and a culture.

I have drake’s skin tone.
I had a Nigerian friend who told me “I’m only black in public.” So no one wants to completely erase themselves. Nor I’m I advocating for us to erase ourselves.
That being said, black people need to stick together. I grew up in an Arab speaking country. I see habasha talking about “we is Semitic” and yet, Arab Semitic are extremely anti-habasha and make memes about them almost every week
