Now don't get me wrong... I generally don't discuss politics of Somalia, I don't have any particular opinion on Farmaajo, for example.... I might discuss religion, world politics, conspiracy topics, etc. but usually I don't actually discuss much specifically to do with Somalia or Somalis...

but I have wondered about this for a while and I am not wanting to support either particular side in this thread. I am simply curious what peoples' views are on this issue and I think it's an interesting and relevant subject. Plus this is not purely an internal issue as we are talking about US presence. I would like to know what to make of that presence.

So I am simply asking the question- should the US leave Somalia?

US is stupid and they make things worse for no reason. they're annoying. can't even control their own country. you see the black Americans running around. they see the white school shooters

Troop presence and army bases, yes.

Aid and assistance, absolutely not.

I will sacrifice the former for the latters sake millions survive and benefit from aid. I just wish the culture of the people didnt enable such corruption in their leaders, Farmajo being a good example of that enabling.

At the moment no but we should slowly start weaning ourselves off of foreign dependence on aid and power. The ultimate goal should be self reliance, we are perfectly capable of measuring up to our own worth. Let us start believing in ourselves because we can and we will :)

US troops have already left Somalia.

Yes, I was kind of confused because I saw people referring to US troops as being there but I think only a small number are still there.

Having to bring in ajanabis to fight your own people is so sad:meleshame:

We gotta put our pride to the side until our lands are secure sxb :manny:

I'm not criticizing anyone but I thought the US was still there but I think it's mostly left

None of them are there, they all left earlier this year. We are relying on AMISOM troops and SNA.

In the end i would like Somalia to be self reliant but atm its not finna be cus of corruption and the weakness of the military

I believe their “black sites” and similiar operations still remain. The CIA isnt apart of the army but regularly contract special forces for their bases in wartorn countries.

You will here rarely that one died out side of Kismayo and that nobody is allowed to bury him the US has to send for the body. Heres an article of an agent doing some similiar sort of work all the way in Gondershe. Xalane is a powerful place.

The ajanabis they mean are Ugandans, Burundians, Kenyans and Ethiopians.
