It is renowned that the term 'dialects' may refer to distinct things. Inside Somalia, it appears assured to say that all the Somali dialects are 'dialects' from a sociolinguistic point of view, that is, in terms of their social role, their general absence in written media, and the speakers acceptance of Northern-Central Somali as a common medium. From a precisely linguistic point of view, however, mutual comprehension should be examined, and we all know Maay and Maxaa are not mutually intelligible; the other so-called Digil dialects are more divergent than Maay. So it's safe to say these are languages, not dialects.

I don't care much for pan-Somali ideas, but if a pan-Somali government came into power they would only have my support if they destroyed Somaliland. That clan enclave needs to be thoroughly dismantled for good.

so are tunni, garre, jiddu and dabarre are all a tiny minority jungle people? You know these together are literally the majority of lower shabelle, one of the provinces with the highest population in Somalia. Also there are dabarre and tunni in middle jubba and even in lower jubba to some extent. Obviously these are not big clans, but they are not some tiny jungle minority. the south of somalia is very diverse and you will find people that speak digil languages evrywhere. By the way the jiddu are the majority of the sablaale district in lower shabelle and make the mayor there for example and you can find them everywhere in konfuur galbeed.

Middle Jubba is probably most clan diverse gobol of Somalia which is also the reason AS have the strongest foothold there

Nowdays most Tunni and Garre in Somalia just speak af maxaa and most jiddu and dabarre can speak one of maxaa or maay as a second language. These dialects have been dying out for a while now. Even speakers of maay itself are switching to maxaa as a first language especially in cities, I can live and work comfortably in baydhabo without speaking a lick of af maay. Af maxaa tiri is pretty much the sole and only language in Somalia

Yes the status of the languages dire right now, but there are nowadays much more strong movements to support these languages by the groups themselves, the strongest support is for af maay. Books, newspapers and so on are released in these languages over the internet. Nowadays af maay was even used in the official press adress of the somali government and is part of the constitution of Somalia, so hopefully with federalism the damage that was done by the centralized state that enforced one language policy can be lessened, even if it will never return to how it was before 60's.

10. Promote Somali culture through softpower and trade with friendly countries
I like the sound of this. Somalia soft power influence needs to be fully developed and exploited. I love how the Japanese have really internationalised their culture to such an extent that they have since the Second World War pacified the world of the anti-Japanese sentiments it had as a consequence of western anti-Japanese propaganda during the '40s. Things like Anime and Manga. The kids raised on that sort of stuff here in the west would never take up arms against the Japanese nor hold disparaging views of Japanese people.
