Recognition has nothing to do with Somaliland they've already met all the criteria for it. It's officials who are scared that the fragile South will disintegrate into a bunch of different movements if they allow the North to break off.

However, I do wonder does it hurt you seeing the hundreds of articles made by reputable sources every years advocating for Somaliland's independence?, The hundreds of youtube videos?

You are naive. As long as Al-Shabaab controls land in Somalia, the war is not over.

SL has done everything they can to get recognition, but they will never get it now that there is an internationally recognized government in the South, the time to get it was 1991-2012, they missed their chance.

Success plays a big part in recognition.

Is this a joke? Somaliland region has gotten the most aid out of all regions. If you follow the news at all how can you believe this when almost every project is a product of foreign aid. The money that goes to Xamar as in the FG is divided for the whole nation, including SL. Get real.
