Should Somalia ban Khat or Shisha?

Personally I would say both bt if you pushed me to choose one, I would say khat.

Somalia cannot sacrifice another generation. It’s quite clear that khaat is partially responsible for the level of violence that occurs in the Somali community and the high rates of mental disorders.

We should at least cultivate the plants ourselves.

Somalia spends 40% of its foreign currency reserves on diesel and the rest on khat from Ethiopia and Kenya.

:cosbyhmm: is any khat currently produced domestically?

Only a tiny fraction of the total we import from abroad.

Even the Khat in the Galbeed and NFD is grown by non-Somalis.

A lot of politics and monopoly cartels behind the scenes but I'm sure anything under a 100 hectares would go under the radar. Anything over would be enough to bribe the right corrupt official.

war on drugs is a fail even in the west. Its better to produce locally and regulate it. That way the money circulates in our own economy. PPl will step away from khat as living standards get better.

I'm not looking to disrupt the local market, just get a nice grow going and box it up to uncle Sam asap

Nvm Somali shipping routes are retarded and subpar compared to the competition

Another market ripe for disruption.

If someone could lease a small cargo ship and run a regular service; I'm sure they could make $500-$5,000 profit per container filled.

Khat is perishable and on top of that illegal in most western markets. Then shipping is another issue. Imagine making it over all obstacles and getting everything seizes (which most likely would happen). I'd rather go South and plant some 7ft mj trees you feel me abti :trumpsmirk:

Mix it in with lettuce and spinach. Cadaans at customs won't know the difference.

Btw MJ is 40 million+ per hectare.:diddyass:

Not sure if our climate would allow it though.

Greenhouses are not too inconspicuous.

It would, but the quality would be inferior to indoor domestic grows. But fukk it, anything beats jungle asians in quality and they're doing alright I guess

I have a feeling anything from Somalia would get flagged though, virtually no imports from Somalia here. Can always throw packages from Kenya doe :ahh:
