I think this was already posted. And the guy wasn't a mainstream ethnic Somali (he was Barwani or Reer Xamar) so skin tone is more important to them. They also have the practice of multi-generation consanguinity - meaning first cousin marriage is more widespread among them. So, he already had a relative picked out for him (most likely). Correct me if I'm wrong.

I thought the Hawiyah Moryaans wiped out Reer Xamar in 1992.
