I used to be naive and think because people are raising awareness for certain plight such as Palestine, Syria. They must have good intentions and will also raise awareness for other causes. But obviously as I grew older I came to realise that isn't the case. People only care about a plight if the people suffering in the conflict are goodlooking or if the media often shows it such as Ukraine war, Palestine etc. Hardly any Somali conflicts gets shown on TV. Like the whole flooding that happend just last year or the mega famine that happened couple of years ago or even al shabab bombing civilians and killing many. And when it was mentioned the recent famine I only saw few Somalis raise awareness which is sad. What's funny I remember some years ago there was this Grenadian/Irish dude from the UK who was one of those that would often raise awareness and it would sometimes go viral. He would almost cover every conflict you can think of Afghanistan, Palestine you name it but not once did I ever see him raise any awareness to any somali plight despite him having some Somali mutuals. I would also come to find out this dude would throw shades towards Somalis before he turned to a "justice warrior". This is a hypcorisy tactic you will find in many people. Thats why we should prioritise in putting our plight first and foremost and than every other conflict second. Others don't care for us like that their hatred has shown just like the example I gave you. If we don't do the work in helping our people than who will? don't expect outsiders to.
