SEEK NOTHING OUTSIDE YOURSELF

The phrase "seek nothing outside yourself" is often associated with philosophical and spiritual teachings, emphasizing the idea that true fulfilment and understanding come from within rather than from external sources.

Let's explore this idea in more depth:

  1. Self-Discovery:
    • Seeking nothing outside yourself suggests a journey of self-discovery. It encourages individuals to turn their attention inward, exploring their thoughts, emotions, and beliefs to understand themselves on a deeper level.
  2. Detachment from External Outcomes:
    • It implies a detachment from external circumstances and outcomes. Rather than relying on external achievements, possessions, or circumstances for happiness or fulfilment, one is encouraged to find contentment within oneself.
  3. Freedom from Dependency:
    • Seeking nothing outside yourself promotes independence and freedom from dependency on external factors. Relying solely on external validation or material possessions for a sense of worth can be fleeting and unreliable.
  4. Mindfulness and Presence:
    • The concept encourages mindfulness and being present in the moment. By focusing on the present rather than constantly seeking something in the future, individuals can cultivate a sense of peace and contentment.
  5. Inner Peace:
    • Inner peace is often considered a by-product of seeking nothing outside yourself. When you release the need for external validation or material success, you may find a deeper, more lasting sense of tranquillity within.
  6. Alignment with Values:
    • It encourages individuals to align their actions and decisions with their core values. By understanding oneself and acknowledging personal values, one can make choices that are more authentic and in harmony with their true nature.
  7. Acceptance and Contentment:
    • Seeking nothing outside yourself involves accepting the present moment and finding contentment with what is. It doesn't mean complacency but rather an acknowledgment of and contentment with the current state of being.
  8. Spiritual Growth:
    • For many, this concept is intertwined with spiritual growth. It suggests that the path to enlightenment, self-realization, or spiritual fulfillment lies within and involves connecting with a deeper aspect of oneself.
In summary, "seek nothing outside yourself" is a philosophical and spiritual perspective that encourages individuals to turn their attention inward, embrace self-discovery, detach from external dependencies, and find fulfilment within the richness of their own being. It's about recognizing that the true source of contentment and understanding is not found in external achievements or possessions but in the depth of one's own self-awareness and acceptance.

How does one gain wisdom with learning about the outside world?

I understand that we should be introspective but not learning from the outside world is naive.

Thats how you end upon jahilya like rumi.

is it associated with the Quran, the Sunnah or the salaf as salih?
I think you can follow philosophical ideas if it is aligned with the teaching of the Quran and Hadith.

Rasul Allah ๏ทบ, the sahaabah, the salaf as salih.... they didn't "seek nothing outside of themselves". this isn't aligned with Quran and Sunnah.
Yeah i know thats why i said if it aligned with the Quran and Sunnah

did the salaf as salih seek nothing outside of themselves?
The statement doesn't oppose or conflict with Islam; in fact, it offers valuable advice, and echoes of its meaning can be found within Islamic teachings. I don't get why your spamming as if Quotes and advice is Haram to heed too.

Well then answer this question- did Rasul Allah ๏ทบ, the sahaabah and the salaf as salih "seek nothing outside themselves"?

Your just coping and still trying to cosplay as a Salafi when i know you got problem with not being allowed to takfir rulers and removing them.

Again with my post and its meaning find me one thing that contradicts and goes against any Islamic teaching?

And yes the meaning of this phrase was practiced and naturally done by the prophet and his companions.

No it wasn't. They did not "seek nothing outside of themselves". If someone follows this ideology, they won't care about the Muslims getting in killed in Gaza. This kind of teaching helps the interest of Zionism, has nothing to do with Islam (is more akin to Buddhism), contradicts Islam (a Muslim seeks the pleasure of Allah- Allah is outside of ourselves- and a Muslim cares about his fellow Muslims, he cares about the ummah- he is not some purely selfish person who only cares about himself, this contradicts Islam) and you present it as some sort of "spiritual wisdom".

"Verily he among you who lives long will see great controversy, so you must keep to my Sunnah and to the Sunnah of the Khulafa ar-Rashideen (the rightly guided caliphs), those who guide to the right way. Cling to it stubbornly [literally: with your molar teeth]."

A Muslim is to follow the Sunnah, a Muslim is to cling to the Sunnah with their molar teeth, not to follow this buddhist type ideology.

Am sorry but your spastic, again usual khawarij trying to bring in Gaza and Muslim suffering into everything.

The concept of "seeking nothing outside yourself" can be aligned with certain aspects of Islamic teachings, particularly those that emphasize internal reflection, spiritual development, and detachment from worldly desires. Here's an in-depth exploration of how the phrase may resonate with Islamic principles:

  1. Spiritual Self-Discovery:
    • Islam encourages believers to engage in self-reflection and self-awareness. The concept of seeking nothing outside yourself aligns with the idea of turning inward to understand one's thoughts, actions, and intentions. The Qur'an often emphasizes the importance of self-awareness and self-improvement.
  2. Dependence on Allah:
    • Islam teaches that ultimate dependence and reliance should be on Allah. Seeking contentment and fulfillment within oneself is consistent with the Islamic principle of relying on Allah for inner peace and guidance, rather than excessively depending on external factors.
  3. Detachment from Worldly Desires:
    • Islamic teachings caution against excessive attachment to material possessions and worldly desires. The idea of seeking nothing outside yourself resonates with the Islamic concept of detachment from the transient nature of worldly goods, emphasizing instead the pursuit of spiritual wealth.
  4. Contentment with Allah's Decree:
    • Islam promotes acceptance of Allah's decree and contentment with the circumstances one faces. Seeking contentment within oneself aligns with the Islamic perspective of finding peace in the acceptance of God's plan and trusting in His wisdom.
  5. Mindfulness and Gratitude:
    • Islam encourages believers to be mindful of their actions and grateful for the blessings bestowed upon them. Seeking nothing outside yourself involves being present in the moment and appreciating the internal blessings, which aligns with Islamic principles of gratitude and mindfulness.
  6. Personal Responsibility and Accountability:
    • Islam emphasizes personal responsibility and accountability for one's actions. The concept of seeking nothing outside yourself implies taking responsibility for your own well-being and spiritual growth, aligning with the Islamic belief in individual accountability before Allah.
  7. Inner Peace through Faith:
    • Islam teaches that true inner peace is found through faith and submission to Allah. Seeking internal fulfilment rather than relying solely on external factors is consistent with the Islamic understanding that genuine tranquillity comes from a deep connection with one's faith.
  8. Balanced Approach to the World:
    • While Islam acknowledges the temporary nature of worldly life, it doesn't discourage engagement with the world. Seeking nothing outside yourself can be understood in the context of maintaining a balanced approach, where the pursuit of worldly matters is guided by spiritual principles.
In conclusion, the concept of seeking nothing outside yourself can be viewed as compatible with certain Islamic teachings, particularly those related to self-awareness, detachment from worldly desires, reliance on Allah, and the pursuit of inner peace through faith and gratitude.

Is this the new ideology of ahlul big mac? Caring about Muslims and caring about the Muslims being genocided in gaza has something to do with the khawarij?

Caring about your fellow Muslims is part of the dฤซn. You have said over and over how you are a Salafi. I don't say I'm a Salafi, I say I believe in the way of the Salaf. Being an individualistic, selfish person who doesn't care about other Muslims and is only concerned with their own self isn't from the way of the Salaf.

Narrated An-Nu`man bin Bashir:
Allah's Messenger (๏ทบ) said, "You see the believers as regards their being merciful among themselves and showing love among themselves and being kind, resembling one body, so that, if any part of the body is not well then the whole body shares the sleeplessness (insomnia) and fever with it."

Using the pain of Muslims and Gaza to undermine authorities and find methods to takfir them, as you do.

You and those part-time-khawarajis seeking to convince people that salafiyahh has factions and versions to separate those on guidance and find methods to justify calling out rulers and pointing fingers are neither salafi/nor on salafi ways.

And don't assume I said not caring for Muslims in Gaza because I don't strive to Takfir rulers and participate in futile ambitions of publicly calling out rulers and imposing and making other Muslims feel guilty for not conducting personal boycotting.

What does anything I've said here have to do with takfir of rulers? You are trying to change the subject. If you want to talk about rulers, graves, mawlid, bid'ah, etc. make a thread on that subject. Those are completely different subjects and you're trying to derail by switching to a different topic.

According to Imam As-Sabuni, caring about the affairs of the Muslims is part of aqeedah. That is from the actual way of the Salaf, not a fake version of Salafiyyah that Zionists want Muslims to adopt.

wow... so if you care about the affairs of the Muslims... this is khariji... apparently Imam As-Sabuni was khariji (by this logic).... and now if you call out ahlul big mac, if you say anything about the spubs cult and faris and shamsi- this is khariji too!

at this rate the whole ummah will be labeled khariji

Better be careful calling Awliya Jaahil!
He said he searched for god and found himself.
He looked within and found god.

He is attributing divinity to himself.

How does one search for god and find himself if he is not attributing a divine aspect to himself.
