I've been wondering, have we ever had any symbols/seals prior to AD 1400 distinct from writing? Almost every civilization I can think of has had a seal or common symbol associated with it, even if only a qabil-by-qabil/rule-by-rule/town-by-town basis; how come I can't find anything regarding ancient Somali emblems despite the large volume of trade we engaged in during both early and late antiquity ?
