MBS is like a Saudi Ataturk, I thought that before the alcohol news and I believe so independently of whether the alcohol news is true or not. even if you think he's a legit Muslim ruler (which I DON'T) and you believe it's unlawful to speak against him... at the very least you don't have to go out of your way to shield him and if you care about Salafiyyah you shouldn't. MBS is at war with salafiyyah, working to dismantle it, the man is an enemy of salafiyyah just like extreme sufis and the rafidah.
If someone plans to spend trillions of dollars and build new cities to become the entertainment hub for western tourists, some kind of alcohol legalisation will most likely come. The question is when, not if; that is, in a logical world, not the one some Salafis inhabit.

see.... what I want to see happen is I want something like the Sino-Soviet split where Mao accused the USSR of "no longer following True Communism" and China basically uprooted the USSR's "papacy" of the Communist world... and they went this route of following Communism while being independent of the USSR.... what is sort of a dream for me is.... salafis go independent from Saudi... maybe some other states emerge that follow Salafiyyah but are one hundred percent independent of Saudi...
because what we've had thus far basically is that Salafiyyah is packaged together with Saudi... I agree with Salafiyyah... I don't consider the Salafi scholars as infallible or anything like that but Salafiyyah has done a lot of great work and made a lot of great contributions to scholarship.... all the contributions, I don't think they should go to waste, I think they should be utilized... but I believe we have to totally independent of Saudi and chart our own course while striving to follow the salaf...
it's like... there is a teacher, you learn- but then at some point you can't just rely on the teacher and you have to be independent and stand on your own two... I appreciate Saudi for what it's done and I appreciate the great work their scholars have done... but ultimately we have to learn from what they've contributed, take it and run with it and be independent... what Saudi used to be is in the past
