RRA veteran Aden Madoobe was one of the people who fought for the Af Maay to be added to the constitution in the Carta convention of 2000. Till today the Maay speaking people are fighting for the recognition and respect for their dialect which is something to be ashamed of for Somalis.

But Alhamdullilah all praise is the most high today Af Maay is making progress in the right direction. The somali people are becoming more understanding and tolerant to the linguistic diversity within our country which is something to be happy about.
