It is far too late for Somaliland to secede now! With the west and Au supporting Somalis sovereignty it's practically impossible for Somaliland to leave now with Khatumo being a state and Awdal soon to be recognized as a state

However, Somaliland chose a different path, Its leaders viewing it as a cash cow while they and their children could live it up with the peasants taxes. Somaliland is a cow for the former SNM elite. Somaliland came a distance second to their third house and 7th wife.

The rest of Somalia views secession as anti-Somali behavior, attributing it to an Ethiopian tactic. This is the natural result of landers screeching and insulting other Somalis for almost three decades.

How is this a W when AU also calls for Ethiopia’s sovereignty & territorial integrity to be respected when they are clearly the aggressors

You guys are really underestimating the influence Ethiopia has in the AU, I would leave that union immediately. Your own president was calaacaling on a press conference saying I was held at gunpoint by Oromos & I had to sneak in with another country’s entourage.

Of course they haven’t, why would they. Obviously Ethiopia has more leverage within the AU than Somalia has I’m not denying that. What I’m arguing is that Ethiopia does not have sovereign influence within the AU, they might have the headquarters located within their capital but their influence is lagging. Namibia has more influence within the AU then Ethiopia has, know IGAD is a different story.

If there was truly a perfect moment to break off, it was during the 90s when there was anarchy in the nation. Had officials accepted they could've done it but that time has passed and as time goes by that opportunity grows slimmer. That is why this MoU was done, Bixi felt that walls closing in on him and in a last mad attempt he sold off land to Ethiopia for "a consideration of recognition". Which mind you won't do anything since African nations recognize the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (western sahara) but that means nothing since the UN does not. In the end I genuinely believe that international powers do not want to deal with redrawing state boarders I'm Africa.

The Kosovo situation is one of demographic shift and a underlining east vs west situation. Even now Kosovo situation is still technically not settled and I doubt it will be.
