Are you talking about Jarèer Qalaafe? At any rate all cities will come under law and order. Qalaafes Ogaden admin needs to reign them in. Hawiye Bantu hybrids wont be allowed to tell Ogaden Absame they cant roam Qalaafe Mustahil etc
I thought liyuu boolis was disbanded
That was a pretense to disarm Amhara. The regions wont become anarchy they will just switch shirts and add a few diversity hires in each region at most.

Nothing better at controlling a region than using its people. “Liyu” is here to stay.

It depends on who you ask 😅

According to the head of ENDF, he said on April the 15th that all special forces were disbanded and had ceased to exist. It also happened to coincided with the timeframe when the rebellious Amharas forces were being dealt with by the gov't 🤣

When they first made the announcement, they said that all forces other than national army, federal police and local police would be disbanded. I thought that they would follow along with their promises. Then I heard the the Field Marshal of the army tell Fana Amharic broadcasting this:

"Now we only have ... the national defence, federal police, regional regular police and regional militias. Structures outside those are illegal and it must be corrected."

It's contradicting with their original objective. They were referring to FANO, who were among the few special forces operating the country. Outside of it, most Liyuu police have been disbanded in names. But they still exist more or less in most regions. Only with another 'name' that conforms with the government's plan. I'm still confused by the gov'ts ambiguous approach. Ultimately, I know they want them gone. But it's unrealistic to remove all regional forces in a non-stable country.

The Ja.reers have become arrogant it’s time Ogadens kicked them out back to Beledweyne

They think we are like the innocent clans bullied in Hiiraan region by Makanne

Shout out to my Bahgari warriors

“Liyu” isnt a favor for the regions its a necessity to effectively govern beyond city centers during peace or war. No matter what they call it their will always be a local force specialized in counter-insurgency of that very region.

The army nor the local police are capable of that. Before Liyu there were liberation fronts opening under every rock. Its why you dont hear anyone mention any SR president pre-Iley.

Yeah, it makes sense now that I look back at how it unfolded. If I recall correctly, the remaining regional forces other than those that integrated with army (barely any from DDS) and police, were sent to special training. Given how useless ENDF are when they're ordered to contain and defeat rebels/insurgents from the past, it shouldn't be surprising either. I'll have to swallow my words for foolishly believing in the federal gov't fake PR trick 😅

Honestly the video says it all, where is the pavement? Why isn't there street light where are the local police force? First it was the sheekhal and now reer shabelle? I did a quick search and it turns out they've been doing this to unarmed civilian for a long time. How are they any different from the ethipian army now stationed in galbeed? One have to ask themselves what is instigating these sporadic oppression. It's clear that the liyu needs to reform and recruit from the local community for there to be a harmonious relationship between the civilians and the liyu.

I was only objectively speaking from the fed/reg government's point of view, not myself, that it would be in their favor to retain a regional force of some sort to use when they deem to be required. Especially when dealing with the early stages of homebred militants before they end up being a threat to the public/gov't.

As far as Liyuu, I've said this before the plans of disbandment in several threads, that they need to undergo reforms to maintain public trust in their authority and legitimacy. A number of incidents have occurred over the years where locals have expressed that Liyuu have been placed when not needed and exacerbated tensions, or used unlawful means to target them. Irrespective of outcome, I've advocated that the local/regional gov't need to address their grievances after any given incident and co-operate with the locals to prevent it from occurring again. Clearly, they've been shortcomings in this regard.

Speaking of the local police, I haven't been up to date as of late, but local police units was supposed to established in most cities, along with training of a police force with the recent changes the past months.

Regarding Qalaafe lacking pavements, there're at least roads in the region right outside the town. Look at Liibaan region for instance, barely any in an entire region that connects with the rest of DDS. This responsibility falls on the federal and regional gov'ts equally. The federal gov't are supposed to build highways and major roads connecting the country. The reg'l (and local) gov't have to build in the towns, but then again, most towns are in a similar seat across DDS. Same with street lights you mentioned, even in towns in Faafan. There're failures everywhere. I'm not a supporter of the current administration, but they need to engage more locally, even if they lack capabilities, to gain/retain the trust of its people.

When the civil war started in Somalia, some Bantus especially Gosha, who were among the last ones to arrive to Somalia and retained their language, Mushunguli, returned to Tanzania. The UN even facilitated those who expressed voluntarily to make the move. Though, they constituted a fraction of the total Bantus in Somalia.

Many mix Somali-Bantus and Jarerweyne. The latter are the majority of 'madow' Somalis. However, they've mixed with ethnic Somalis over the last centuries, well integrated in the Somali society, and in many areas assimilated with us, and thus don't identify with any foreign identity.

I welcome any clan who wants start a . Fight with liyu I want as many Somalis to taste just 0.2% of what the Ogaden faced against the liyu.
