The sad truth. Most of the kids have been brainwashed too.

Imagine being born and growing up in Jilib where you are brainwashed from birth to believe the khawaarij ideology. Somalia will have to have a serious de radicalisation program to deal with these kids so that they can be re integrated back into Somali society.

There's a big pattern among AS defectors and that's they are often young men. Perhaps in their late teens to thirties. This is clearly due to realizing that there are no prospects within the terrorists organization. They'll be foot soldiers till the day they strap a bomb on themselves or get gunned down by a SNA officer.

The nation should definitely do more reach out to the women and children. Young men willing to turn their life around should be given a chance.
