Why are Somalis always in groups of 10? They go to McDonalds in groups of 10, they go to the public washroom in groups of 10, they smoke blunts in groups of 10. Here’s a 101 on how to deal with cops

1. If you are going to get a ticket or YOU are being investigated for a crime, you must provide your ID. Getting your ID is a necessary part of the cops job and stopping them from doing their work is a crime (obstructing a peace officer)

2. Familiarize yourself with the process of getting police records via Freedom of Information Act. You can get any notes they made about you and if they are incorrect or you don’t want them in the system, ask for them to be removed. They will comply most of the time.

3. If you got stopped for a traffic offence that carries no demerit points or other penalties, cooperate and be nice. Admit it immediately and apologize. You likely won’t get the ticket. If however you are stopped for something that carries serious consequences, provide you ID and shut your mouth. Fight it in court and invest in a cheap lawyer.

4. You don’t have to incriminate yourself. Beyond providing ID, you don’t have to answer questions. Technically they can’t use what you say against you without reading you your rights but they can use what you say against you by building leads. Don’t give them leads. If you’re in big trouble shut up and get a lawyer.

1. Gym is not the govt and can kick you out for no valid reason. The terms of the gym membership explain what you can and can’t be kicked out for. They had an excuse.
2. The cops showed up because the woman complained she was being threatened. If that is true, that’s illegal in Canada and the cops were trying to figure that out. To do that they need your ID and they refused to provide it.
3. The cops don’t enforce the terms of your gym contract and don’t give a shit if you don’t get a refund. Take that up with the YMCA and prove that they’re in violation of the terms.

They feel aggrieved but they should look at the root cause of the problem, not the fact that cops need to ID people accused of making threats. This laziness and sympathy seeking behaviour is the plight of the AA community in the US. It’s whats behind BLM.
