It is disheartening to see many Somali girls wearing wigs and weave when they have beautiful natural hair that is the envy of many women across the world.

To give them the benefit of the doubt though, many just don't have the time or money to take care of their hair so wearing weave is more convenient. Many faraxs cut their hair short despite their hair being beautiful long, simply because they can't be bothered to maintain it or because big haired farax aesthetic isn't in style. Either way, we Somalis need to be more culturally conscious and I believe it begins with maintaining our unique Somali hair, growing it out... World Somali Hair Day
