you notice how most modern societies have a professional military, in the United States and most western countries they won’t let you join the military without a high school diploma and an IQ test.

I wonder if we implemented that, what the outcome will be?

An IQ test is required to join the military? Lol nobody with a high Iq will join a club where people die for politicians’ screwups.

But in general, a professional military should be set up where soldiers have decent salaries and have their families taken care of. If promotions happen on merit and everyone’s skills are harnessed to achieve the greater goal, the military will be formidable to outside forces and well-respected locally.

But this requires a bottom-up approach. Getting rid of the current leadership and putting young people in those positions should be the priority. While young, inexperienced leaders don’t fare well in a high intensity conflict, competence and ethics are more important. It’s not like the current leadership can win a war anyway.
