are barawanis somali? like ethnically? i have a friend and shes half barawani/jordanian but she dosent really claim jordan because she grew up around only somalis in manchester anyways ive never heard of barawani, whats their history? (im genuinely asking) dont come at me!

They are light skin arabs merchants- possibly Omans- who settled in Xamar and mixed with the locals. They are known to have light skin, make best xalwo, and generally abused by dark skinned Somalis

Cadcad and Barawani are different. Cadcad is used to refer to Reer Xamar and Reer Xamar tend to have way higher Somali DNA than their Barawani counterparts due to Reer Xamar mixing more.
