As puntites we built our state on some founding principles that we self govern our regions and other clans do the same and create a shared somali federal govt. This declaration was made in 98. It was Implemented in 2004 by Abdillahi Yusuf which has paved the way for every successive government. It's currently reaching 23 Years and the outcomes are still not achieved and even sometimes under threat by destabilizing forces in the south(usually moryan business ppl using politicians) to stirr conflict so a strong govt isn't established.
Do we hold this course? what is the benefit? the key fear of PL founders was a divided somalia only hurts Somalis as we all revert to city states like djibouti or gulf who get swallowed up by their bigger neighbor(saudi or ethiopia), this was the big fear of the founders to promote unity. I understand this concern is very real, but why don't we balance it by measuring what the effects of this type of failed unity has achieved. Well first our diaspora generation is going to merge with the west after gen z and they will die off by 2080 the bulk of them, forget their kids who will blend into the west like african americans, while our locals will remain trapped with warlord/terrorist generation. Don't we see by holding this course by achieving nothing, we are already on the path of extinction and getting swallowed up anyways?
The colonials across the mid-east and africa had a plan to empower the 'naked' people of each region and put pressure on their 'established' historical class, similar to what we saw in Rwanda with Hutu chasing Tutsi. U will see this happen across the whole continent, the 'naked' ones putting pressure on established class. But Rwanda has turned a leaf and HUTU has realized it's best to be ruled and develop it's capacity then everyone falling to extinction. This model can be used across all africa where the established groups prior to colonialism are given the leadership with the trust and power to help it's more unsophisticated class.
They are doing this method of eliminating the ruling class even in our neighboring mid-east who were 3 regions(maghrib, sham, khaliij) they empowered the khalij who were literally born at the time of colonial arrival and empowered them with oil to eliminate it's ruling class in baghdad, syria, egypt. U will find khaliij very much trying to do this not knowing if successful, they only played into the hand of colonialism who will then be able to control them forever after all they are the ones who created you since you had no pre-colonial history. I cry when I see baghdad-syria under constant threat cuz I know they are the civilized class and I know what that means for my continent n it's civilized class. Egypt is also always interfered with.
When I think about this and see this all playing out on the local scene, it tears my heart what the future of our continent will be. Even now in Sudan their using the 'darfur' uncivilized people to eliminate their civilized class. This pattern is present no matter where you look and it's time Puntites also accept this reality. Yes separation is going to make us all weaker but it must be a nuclear option to save our people from extinction process that is being executed on us. We suffer the most if our diaspora post gen z don't return since we have the largest diaspora our brain power. We will be reduced to HAG levels and you seen their local dynamics for 30 years.
Finally African solutions for African problems not copy n paste western solutions who don't live on this continent, just like the chinese tweaked and adapted their system to chinese characteristic not copy n paste. We must have a deep discussion in the continent about pre-colonial history and empower and return these people in their respective roles who are under siege by the hordes of their new nation. The horde don't need to worry, the Rwanda model will be implemented where you benefit also by growing your capacity. Or what's the other option we all die.
