puntland is the only region in somalia with potential

It's kind of sad when you look at other regions in somalia, no matter how much money is peddled them, you can tell it wouldn't make a difference, because there is very little drive and too much corruption. Mashallah, the people of PL work with limited resources and vast dry empty lands. They are still poor obviously, but it seems to me to have more potential because they are more hard working people (highest employment rates/labor participation in somalia, lowest poverty) If the harti community abroad could all chip in, I believe it could be the next dubai.

Obviously the vast geeljire population increase the poverty rates, but still...

Primitive tribal talk and cuqdad aside, what do you guys think??

Please keep tribes out of this, we are speaking purely from a regional point, and respective progress, budgets, etc

For the record, it would honestly make me ecstatic to see any region in somali succeed so this isn't in any way slanted

The problem is the tribes of somalia when you look at their base which is their 'diya' clans, you will find for example 4-7 clans coming together to pay for something when 2 jilibs under 1 jufo can do the same in Majerten.. The clan gdp per capita is shocking in Somalia and you can tell by the amount of diya paying clans in Puntland how well advanced they are in comparison to other clans.

That's interesting but you can just look at the studies done.

Dr. Osman, what happened to the mad scientist Dr. Osman? Are you into politics now?

Yeah I am into politics right now, don't feel 'scientific' as of late because I want our political problems to end so we can then talk 'science' but that's not possible when 7 jilibs have to combine in abgaal to pay 100k or 100 camels when only 2 jilibs can do the same in majerten an example my clan which is hassan yusuf and sicid yusuf. What is your explanation for this? surely we are far more productive?

We need to take it further down to the individual level. That's what my awoowe wanted in the end, that his jufo each man can sit down and face of with all marehan or sade in productivity and gdp per capita. My awoowe plan was for @Sheikh @nine @Dues Ex Machete to run to 'sade' to collect 100k or 100 camels when one bah dubays man can do the same. Markas waxay sheegadu noqon lahayd my awoowe sitting with all marehan not needing his jufo just himself worth all marehan lives.

It was gonna to work, We want every bah dubays man productivity to equal all marehan combined, kadibna miska saa faristo, for example send 3 bah dubays to equal all marehan camels or money. He was a visionary odaygu, he worked hard on that and as u can see we reached 2 jilibs to be worth same as warsangeli abgaal oo 7 jilibs ah kkkkkk. That's how old time majertens used to think sxb, in la dhiso beeshu iyo basekeedu.

What makes it even more impressive is that nothing existed in the northeast pre civil war, most of the people also had nothing when they came back.

Thanks to the somewhat low unemployment rate less people take the tahrib route and stay in their region, education is key here but I think there's more to be done.

One resource we are rich in is fishery which we underuse and not taking advantage of, our fish could feed all of africa without any issues. Notice days fished per year, avg catch and gdp per capita compared to the rest below

It's due to the equipment, 118 kilos a day is very shocking considering how large the coastline is. If normal nations had that sort of coastline your talking 'tonnes' a day not kilos.

Puntland needs to lift it's game in the fishing sector, it's a very profitable game and can increase our GDP per capita $50 a day x 7 days is 350 a week x 4 weeks 1200 a month x 12 months is 12k a year. Even 6k a year is perfect if our poorest person is on that sort of income. It can cover his essentials such as 'rent', vehicle, food, and pocket money and savings for properties in the future. A farmer will never earn that and will be lucky to get 5 dollars a day and why I believe MJ are more productive it's due to our choices of occupation of fishing and livestock which are high yeilding compared to farming with least amount of investment needed unlike farming.

Since OP didn't want this to devolve into Qabyalad I won't take it there, but ditoore kanini. Your outlandish comments and nonsensical tangents must come to an end. Your pipe dream is just that, a pipe dream kkkk

Your just a duli, all Puntland regions are Camel herding waryaa. Edeb yeelo. When the hell was GEDO suited to 'camel' herding, edeb yeelo duli sade. Stick to waiting for 6 months for harvest and earning the same money as my fisherman does in a 'day' and they work off-seasons on 'camel herding' as I am reading a nice report on now so their productive at all times HIGH yielding occupations. Not waiting for tomatos and 'zaytun' which costs 10 cents a kilo kkkkkk, ya duli.

Puntland has a major benefit to market themselves as a low tax haven. An Alternative to Somaliland once they prove to the world they're competent and secure.

The idiots in charge of SL are ruining us by first raising taxes in the port now cargo taxes at the airport have been increased. You may not have the numbers of Hargeisa but starting off with core industries to become self sufficient with lead to success.

And as long as your authorities keep the taxes low more businesses will continue to flock.

Puntland just has peace but seeing as how Somaliland had that for 30 years and nothing changed, I doubt the north would really develop faster then the south

It has an opportunity to attract as taxes are extremely high for businessmen but it's all about location and population centres.

don't be rude say, so you're saying that Somaliland is the same after Afweynes bombardment of the 3 cities where nothing was left standing and the cities and countryside littered with landmines that killed thousands in the years to follow
