Puntland Is Bigger Than 1 Person Or Group

All the people drumming for civil war in Puntland are people who don't understand Puntland is an Idea and bigger then a Person or Interest Group. The Idea and Philosophy behind Puntland was laid down in 1998. It's an idea grounded in Puntland helping itself first and then Helping Somalia through it's 'example'. This Flows beautifully with the evolutionary philosophy also, that everything big or complex such as nation re-building, must be done with small, incremental steps and region to region. Complex systems must report to simple roots.

As Somalis are known culturally to say 'manage your house or region before you talk about what is good for my region or god forbid talk about the nation'. This type of thinking style is embedded in the Somali mind, so it's not a 'foreign' idea as some claim to discredit federalism. It's a fundamental somali characteristic. This isn't something that was brought to us by 'foreigners' and taught to Somalis. Centralism however is inspired by colonialism(managing other ppl houses).

Puntland desire for a strong and prosperous Somalia couldn't be achieved at national conferences(15 failed conference using a top-down approach), it had to start with ourselves first as >>>> Islan Mahamed said at 7:29 Mark. He may or may have not known this but anything 'big and complex like nation rebuilding' has to start with small, incremental, evolutionary' steps or region to region.




This is the evolution and back-drop that created Puntland in a summarized visual from 1991 to Today. Puntland 'meel fog ba laga keenay' meaning lets not return Somalia back to a point of 'no return' like we saw in 91, when ppl couldn't even travel or walk down the street without 'weapons'




The other reason 1991-1997 nationbuilding conference failed was fundamentally because it was 'foreign' idea to Somalis. No-one trusted each other talking about the nation from a top-down approach because the somali mind-set is geared towards 'show me what your saying by doing it in your region first'.

Now to those who still think Puntland will collapse becuz of small interest groups knowing the above are just silly. Puntland is a home-grown not foreign Idea. 1991-1997 conferences were foreign ideas to the Somali culture. Puntland is bigger then Deni or Aaran Jaan. Puntland will resolve it's issue knowing that Puntland is grounded in an home-grown local idea and it will not collapse because of a certain politician interest or any interest group.

Dr Osman is very proud of Puntland not out of emotion if they were 'wrong' or heading in the wrong direction, I would be the first to be opposition. I do criticize them constantly, that 'federalism' is currently being under-mined and we are responding with 'ties being cut' only and returning into a continous stalemate cycle of conflict with the SFG and only leading to our self imposed isolation like Somaliland.

We must discuss another 'transitional' model between federalism-Secession, a 99 year treaty following china-hong kong model is very suitable, I've provided the many benefits and risks mitigated with this model, plus it's not an extreme solution like south sudan secession which they regret, as they can't return to their union. Extreme solutions have this problem whether union or secession.

Puntland can still return to our federal union only when the time is 'suitable' and it mitigates international concerns that PL can enjoy this transitional status for 99 years and as it proves itself on the global stage while watching from the outside that the SFG has reached political maturity, security, socio-economic development, rule of law, international confidence.

Puntland can measure these metrics every 25 years with the SFG to see if it has reached it and if it hasn't Puntland can return back to our 99 year treaty status. Once the treaty duration has expired in 99 years, PL would've have developed 99 years worth of statehood and international confidence to migrate to a sovereign nation state status, if by some miracle the SFG has matured(met those metrics) and has international confidence, Puntland can return to the union, or if we want we can continue to extend this cooling off period treaty for another 99 years.

If even for some reason PL fails in this transitional treaty status like south sudan did, we can return to the SFG. This model covers all unionist-secessionist-internationl concerns.

Puntland will still participate in Mogadishu and guiding it towards our Federal Model, which clearly works and addressses all past system problems from colonial to dictorship and provides a state with 'somali characteristics' 'qof walbo tiisa ha soo dhisto'

I'd be looking at you crazy somalis(full of clan pride) discussing to manage other ppl houses from 1 city, even tho we saw that fail, plus we know this is a foreign idea from colonialism. In my heart I will say 'war taada soo dhiso' and show me your region success with my eyes to support your 'genuine' or else I will 'dismiss' you by 'default' as holding a 'clan agenda' only and then the national conference will naturally collapse(becuz everyone is thinking the same) because it lacks 'somali characteristics' ama 'tiina soo dhista' kow. A person from GM/HS won't tell me what is best for the nation when I know what their regions look like.

This is a somali cultural mindset, ma aha 'wax dibada laga keenay' which the 'true clannists' the centralists using the 'qaran baan dhisaya' love to say. How u going to build 'qaran' when we know what ur 'caqli' or 'regions' look like. The only thing u can build is to 'spread' the destruction so we all become like you. That's why since 91 till today Mogadishu hasn't contributed anything but destruction to itself and even PL and others. U have no other 'experience' dee and Puntites know this.
