Puntland independence day suspected to cause clan tensions

Tomorrow will mark the 25th anniversary of Puntland's self-determination. Tomorrow will also mark the 27th anniversary of Aidid's death. The people of Puntland will be celebrating 25 years of self-determination, while the people of Galmudug will be mourning the death of Aidid. This is suspected of igniting clan tensions between Habar Gedir and Majeerteen. The people of Puntland have already called for an increased police presence ahead of their Independence Day celebration scheduled for tomorrow.

Someone on Twitter used Aidid's picture as their "flag and face" to mark Puntland's 25th anniversary. That is extremely offensive and uncalled for. We need to remain calm and respect each other. I hope Puntland's Independence Day celebration is full of joy and peace. Majeerteen iyo Habar Gedir waa walaalo is jecel. Please stop contributing to Qabil wars online. Happy Puntland independence day in advance. Stay safe.

In my community the local sacad community will be remembering and mourning Aidid. It happens every year. I am not sure about your community.

This year Puntland independence day and remembering Aidid will take place in the same building in my community. This has never happened before. Both parties will be using different venues/rooms. Police were called to ensure a peaceful and smooth transition. We don't want both parties misinterpreting each other.

I can't with this sheegato. I'm supposed to believe people are holding vigils for Aidid 30 years after his death :heh: No one takes you seriously, keep making up stories.

Are you mentally stable? I said the Sacad community remembers and honors aidids legacy every year on August 1. Most Majeerteen are not even aware today marks the 27th anniversary of Aidid's death. We don't want both communities misinterpreting each other. Why would I make that up? Seek help, my friend.
