That's why Puntland can develop roads, ports, drainage, water treatment facilities which Mogadishu or Hargeisa can't. You need your locals to be middle class to have a nation or government. 100 Business ppl won't be enough taxes to develop your region. My dad said when he went to hargeisa they fought over his suitcase, same with hamar. But in PL they throw your bags into cargo vehicles looooool, so this is an example of poverty level.
When U see Hargeisa or Hamar, when-ever a road project is done, it's never locally funded or even co-paid, it's fully paid for by international donors, becuz their middle class doesn't exist. In a real nation you need people to be middle class not 100 rich ppl and millions poor. How can u develop a nation with that type of social structure?
PL is like America/UK/Australia/Canada, where-as Hamar n Hargeisa are more similar to Russia 100 rich men system. Me and @SirLancelLord use to debate this issue alot, it's great now it's come to the public tv
PL has 3 airports, 2 ports, 3 major market centers(kismayo, bosaso, galkacyo), a political capital(garowe). It has 212,000 SQ KM of Somalia which is 30% of Somalia. The cities with the most roads are in PL today.
Aar ha dhisteen hamar to afgoye road reer hamarku, waxaa bixinayo international community, where-as Puntites are building our road to erigavo to eldahir which is fully funded locally. Even the 3G road to garacad n galdogob is going to be 'co-paid' by Puntites if not fully funded.
Run hadi aad rabtan when I was in ethiopia, especially in addis ababa, somalis lived in an area known as bole rwanda near the airport, the ppl that begged me for money was 'cayr guy and isaaq guy' no darods did. I think it's important to note this since Majertens are largest segment of diaspora, so diaspora returning will be like majerteen and only a 'handful' returned, most puntland is developed by locals.
