The two nations agreed on cooperation in areas such as trade, security, counter-terrorism and information sharing on criminal networks.

They both opposed the petroleum and election laws passed by the corrupt FGS and reject any future laws passed without their consultation.

Look at how far Gaalkacyo has come in terms of security and political maturity. This just proves that the political spoilers are in Mogadishu.

This is the beauty of federalism. Nothing else can bring long time enemies together like this.

Only anti Somali qabiilists support the centralization of power into a one clan city.

Are you even from Gaalkacyo? It is the federal states who have divided the city. Xamar has nothing to do with it. Today Galmudug and Puntland are united because the new law will stop them from signing new corrupt oil deals. Tomorrow they will go back and fight over who owns the street light on their made up border.

Are you from Gaalkacyo? Acting like it became divided with the FMS.... you can’t be serious.

The city has never been more peaceful.

Mudug got divided in 91 boowe

Puntland and Galmudug have decided to have the same political agenda, if this is followed by the other federal states, it means the civil war nonsense is effectively over. We just need those lunatics in Mogadishu to stop instigating and accept the terms set by the federal states. Thereafter, we can extract and sell our resources at reasonabl

Even before, the city had two wells, Baraxley and Susacley I believe and then an MJ elder invited Sacad to live in baraxley and they've been there since.

Are YOU from Galkacyo? For the past few years, they've been cooperating and even have a united police force. This is bigger than the disputes with Mogadishu.

Why are you trying to undermine the fact that Galkacyo has improved immensely?

They've done an impressive job in ending the monthly upheavals in Galkaacyo, but I'm interested in the progress (if any) on the question of Mudug and which federal state it will join. Have they just agreed to put that issue on the back-burner or are they crafting some sort of agreement?

Mudug has already officially been divided per the FGS/Puntland agreement from a few years back (it was de facto split since at least the civil war probably even earlier). Mudug won’t fully join either administration but the status quo in terms of territorial control will remain with more cooperation between the two nations.

Yes, I am. How could you consider federalism a win in Gaalkacyo? The city is dived with 2 mayors. Every year when things escalate mortars are fired at the airport from the side of Galmudug. Gaalkacyo is getting a new airport outside the city because of Puntland and Galmudug. The city will stay divided because of Puntland and Galmudug.

How can anyone call federalism a success in Gaalkacyo?
