As puntites we must accept criticism or else we can't improve and therefore it can lead to a situation of decay and eventual extinction. I've heard many complaints about puntites from my maternal side, thru my own research to validate things, and even from Somalispot. Once it's valid and constructive criticism, we must accept it.
For example my mother says your clan doesn't even treat it's own people as equal, she means Majerten and call them nasty names such as 'yaryar, jarjar' and they want to tell our clans who don't suffer such issues how to operate. She also says your southern majerten who has been conditioned there post 1960 also have the worst attributes of 'gossip' and they don't speak direct and frank.
She praised Hawadle founder of Irir who spoke frankly and direct about his tribal position in the 1960s with his irir project, apparently he said something along of the lines of 'Afarta hawadle ayaan kursigooda ku jogga' didn't capture it completely she meant the '4 pillars' of the chair which he described the hawadle subclans and how he sits at the top and he doesn't care for other Somalis becuz he doesn't represent them.
She said the issue in Somalia is not tribe, u can be tribal, but just be direct and honest about it and not try to present yourself as 'calool qabiil while your mouth is malab'. This to my shock and horror is even verified 'gossipy' culture.
She also made other valid points that other Darods and even Harti don't like us like dhulbahante who is creating his own Admin, she argued if they don't like you, why are you asking hawiye too? She really preached to 'start' with your own house, set an example, rather then run your mouth while your actions show something else.
I did mention in defence that the northern MJ culture is very direct/frank like my awooweyaal, and this condition has come due the southern urban conditioning. We need to remove these southern majerten culture that has penetrated through-out Puntland. We can't honestly tolerate this anymore.
