1) The prophet was attacked and mocked numerous times, yet enemies of Islam at that time never used his blessed marriage with Aisha as an insult towards the blessed Prophet

2) Abu Bakr was several times approached for Aisha’s hand in marriage before she married the prophet. Amongst them was the Quraishi leader Mut’im ibn Adiy. Thus indicating that it was socially acceptable.
