The president of development promised 3 airports in 3 years he is on track to meet that.
@Abdalla how do you think the gov got the land for this airport? As far as I know, that land east of the road is all boos owned privately by a Reer Mahad guy and the people he sold to.
Not sure, I doubt they will pay compensation since its an empty land. My brother owns quite some land in Galkayo and the government was building a road on that land in 2015. They just told his caretakers that they will build a road there, but did not offer any compensation. On a positive note, his land has a road now on all four angles. Any smart landowner would welcome that kind of development. You might lose a large chunk of land but the rest will be worth more.
@Abdalla What does this mean for AY airport?
It will remain an airport for khat planes. AY airport is a military base, it's the headquarter of the PIS. It's very strategic for our southern defense.
@Abdalla Will this new airport bear AY's name? Or will it be named something else.
No idea. I hope they name it after the city. We should get rid of naming airports after important figure heads. Nobody will know in what city AY airport is located
I hoped they would sell the land to developers. What happened to the xerooyin, have they been sold?
Is there any news on this project?
The land was giving away actually for sake of development
It will be great when galkayo to garowe road is finished. The video looks promising they are getting there.
I can't wait to see el dahir and erigavo road, that looks like a project that is on the move also.
That road is exceedingly narrow :/
My Qabil city Nigga.
It's a small road that leads to the entrance to the airport
Even the most underdeveloped parts of the world are becoming semi-developed, interesting.
