Would it be cool for me to tell a woman "marry me or I'm going to kill myself?". There are guys who have done things like tell their girlfriends that they'll commit suicide if she leaves.

So what should the woman then do? If I come to you and say let me marry your sister or I'm going to kill myself- you're going to have your sister marry me?

Obviously not. If I really make such a threat then the proper response would be to refuse and to let me kill myself. I don't think the Sheikh said anything wrong. If you do something stupid like kill yourself over a woman, it's your own fault- not hers.
