It is typical of oromo to want this. They want Addis to Hafun. Christian oromos are displacing amharas who are arming up. Muslim Oromos displacing Somalis(they are running like cowards and refugees) unlike the Amhara who is fighting back. Waxan la yaaba dadka leh, oromo iyo somali waa walalo. They only your brother when their weak, oromo is an animal when he has power and doesn't remember you as his brother then.

If this ever happens, I am starting an insurgency with my fleet of technicals. We will never accept this and will fight to the end to stop it.
The first time was under Al-Najashi who gave the prophet's companions asylum. He was a secret revert who couldn't even say the Shahhada out loud because the powerful Ethiopian church would have murdered him.
The second time was under Ahmed Gurey for a brief period.

In that scenario, it is far, far more likely for Somalia to be ruled by a Christian than for a Muslim to rule Ethiopia.
You have to realise how unequal we are at the moment. Ethiopia dwarfs both Somalia and Eritrea combined in population and economy. They would be the ones to dictate the terms of a potential union and they would be on top.

However, an economic union wouldn't be so bad.
We'd run circles around the Habesha if we had unfiltered access to their 100 million population market.
At just 10k GDP per capita that would be a trillion dollar economy.
We'd also be able to align out interest and avoid having Ethiopia have a reason to sabotage the rebuilding in Somalia.
