Pledge of Allegience

America is an unusual place, the kids are forced to say

"I pledge allegience, to the flag, of the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which it stands, one Nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all"

while facing the flag and putting their right hand on their heart.

I remember doing this every day in school, looking back it was incredibly weird and unusual, and of course the god they were referring to was the Christian god.

Had this been done in North Korea people would call it brainwashing and propaganda

Indeed, just pointing out how unusual it was.
The UK is totally different, we don't have any of that. I remember in 9th grade a white girl came into school wearing a crucifix necklace her grandmother had gifted her and as soon as she sat down they told her to get up a T.A took her outside and told her to take it off, it was inappropriate and such displays are not allowed in the school. The girl was pissed off and we were somewhat suprised but they're a lot more PC here and discriminate against white Christians more than us minorities I noticed lol.

You do know the god of Christianity and Islam are the same.

In that the god referenced to by Jews and Christians in prayer or scripture is also the god of Muslims according to Islam.
