That's not true sxb....i've studied english medium school in garowe and we had arabic subject since my pre-school classes( like any other school in puntland). Hence, majority of puntlander's definetely know and understand fus-ha(classic) Arabic but not the current dielects

Somalis are the only non Arab muslims that hold their khutbahs in Arabic. Even in the west they hold their friday sermons in Arabic. Somalis in the west do not speak fluent arabic, only the few arabs in a SOMALI moaque understood.

I have been to several muslim countries Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Morocco and walahi not single one of them hold it in arabic. Even bastardized arabs like moroccans hold it in their dialect, the darija/amazigh. I went to masjid Shafici in Gaalkacyo and dude was speaking Arabic.

My brother that tells you the state of mind of the Somalis now days. They are so brainwashed that anyone who stands in front of them and preaches Islamnimo is automatically assumed to be “extremist”. There is nothing I see in this man that tells me he has ties with anyone. If anyone is accusing him of having ties to extremism they should presence evidence.

This isn’t the first time I have seen this man. I have seen program where he was being interviewed and he seems to have far reaching support in Puntland and beyond, lots of Rer Hargeisa were calling into the program and showing their support. I believe he did also spend considerable time in Hargeisa/Berbera

He was part of the same group as Xasan Dahir Aweys. SSDF literally fought him and his religious group Al-Itihad Al-Islami in 1992 in Bari. Puntlanders jnow his history and we are hesitant of him. He is using Islam as a campaign tool. We never saw him giving khutbahs, and all of a sudden he ascends the minbar.

Imo, that should be an automatic disqualification
