From what I gathered as the market is different to 99 when I was in Hamar, they may use the 'dollar' for anything more then $10 dollars while they use the shilling for the rest below it but im not sure where the dollar/shilling limit is?

When I was there, I met only like 2 diaspora dudes on dhaqan celis kkkk so there wasn't much dollar floating around, the shilling was used more. Now it's dollarized the market due to the 'increased' activity happening cuz of the govt, foreigners, diaspora but there is still not local currency

I am not sure wat the exact amount is where they stop the shilling but I doubt they want to carry around bag full of shillings that is 100 dollar(one note). The shilling is dead and un-controlled it was even like that when I was there but there was no 'mobile transfer' back then so it was all done thru cash.

PS - I haven't been to PL so I can comment about that but I wud assume the situation is the same as Hamar.

I actually think the twin policies of secessionism and isolationism were a mistake, especially at the beginning. Unionism between Isaaq and southern clans was a better alternative that might have even led to constructive nortj-south engagement that makes things better for both the south and north and establushing a union government that could have achieved what Afweyne failed at.
