This was what I suspected. After looking at the pictures coming out of the carnage it shows that the qarax didn’t even penetrate the wall around the hotel. What it did was the qarax dispersed the guards at the entrance of the building. From the picture of the carnage you can also see that people were drinking the evening tea at the gorgeous courtyard. Some just got there from the airport because they had their luggages next to the tables (unluckiest persons).

What it means is that the bomb went off and folks fell to the ground from shell shock. It took them a minute to register the events taking place. By then the rebels came in the courtyard (these dudes have been trained on split seconds from the qarax to entering the building so they can cause mass casualties before the occupants run to their rooms). Clearly they came upon targets. At this moment the victims got up and tried to run. However it was pretty picking for a youth fit like a fettle to easily catch up with a pregnant lady and others.
