parents are a factor, but not the sole reason. theres a reason caadan kids with stable parents and lots of wealth go to shit areas of london to do ketamine/cocaine. peer pressure is incredibly strong. the desire to be accepted in a group is evolutionary beneficial so kids will often do uncomfortable things to be 'cool'.
